Biography
Senator Dean Murray represents the 3rd Senate District, covering portions of southern Brookhaven in Suffolk County. He previously served in the New York State Assembly from 2010 to 2014, winning a special election at the height of the Tea Party movement. After a period in the private sector, he returned to public service by winning the Senate seat. Murray is a small business owner and has been a strong advocate for fiscal conservatism, lower taxes, and public safety. He has focused on fighting gang violence, supporting law enforcement, and opposing unfunded mandates on local governments.
