Mario Mattera

Senator Mario R. Mattera represents the 2nd Senate District, covering parts of the Towns of Brookhaven, Huntington, and Smithtown in Suffolk County. A lifelong Suffolk County resident, Mattera spent over 43 years as a member and leader of Plumbers Local Union #200. He was elected to the Senate in 2020 and has been re-elected twice. He is a champion for Long Island's working families, fighting for good-paying jobs, affordable housing, and trade education. He has been a vocal advocate for strengthening career and technical education programs, protecting veterans' benefits, and supporting first responders. Mattera lives in East Setauket.
